Protec is very excited to announce that the upstairs snack bar is under new management! Starting on February 1st 2020, partners Matt Favreau and Jim Vadola will be transitioning the snack bar into more of a full service café with healthy options and more menu alternatives for our athletes and families. There will also be coffee and select food items in the downstairs room next to the lobby.
Jim and Matt are long-time Protec hockey parents, along with their very supportive wives Amy and Lauri. They bring a passion for quality food and a desire to service the Protec community with the highest customer service possible. They will be operating under the moniker “TZE Café” which represents the initials of their 3 sons..Taylor, Zach, and Evan. Wraps, sandwiches, salads, and protein shakes are just some of the new items available, in addition to traditional rink staples such as burgers, hot dogs and mozzarella sticks.
To add variety, weekly and seasonal specials are also planned. TZE Café will also be catering to team parties, summer hockey camps, and in-house birthday parties. These are in addition to weeknight meals and snacks during practices.
One goal is to offer families the option to set up accounts with the café to reduce the need for cash and allow the athletes to place orders within parental guidelines. This makes summer camp lunches and weeknight dinners more convenient, especially when parents may not be at the rink.
Their website, www.TZECAFE.com is currently being designed and will be interactive with current menus, specials, and of course, parental feedback. The ultimate objective is to create a partnership which will enhance the experience for our athletes, families, fans, and competitors.
This transition will take some time with some growing pains anticipated. Your patience and understanding will be greatly appreciated!
