Instructors:

Ted Sweeney – Head of Hockey Academy

Ted began his coaching career in 1995 with the Bayonne Rangers as an assistant coach for their Squirt B team.  Following that season, Ted moved closer to home becoming a head coach for the Bridgewater Bears program head coaching teams from the mite to bantam levels for the next 10 years.  During that time, Ted guided two teams to the AAHA District playoffs winning the championships both times.  Ted’s teams also won two NJYHL playoffs and three season 1st place honors.  His team victories also include 2 Can/Am golds as well as many 1st place finishes  at other prestigious tournaments.  Ted has also volunteered his time coaching at the Garden State Games Spring tournaments, earning two gold medals there.

Ted retired from travel coaching and moved on to coach the Bridgewater/Raritan middle school team for the next 6 years.  It was during that time that Ted saw the need for all players to receive the best coaching at the youngest age possible.  During that time, Ted was given the opportunity to head the BSA future Stars/Legends program.  Ted accepted the offer and developed a program designed to 1) give the youngest players the best start to their hockey careers and 2) for those players who started later, the best coaching to get them up to speed at an accelerated rate
