Magic, meet Protec. Protec, Magic.

Will Fern, world renowned professional magician who specializes in close-up and stage magic, will be coming to Protec Ponds Ice Center to teach the local youth some new tricks!  Classes will be held for children ages 7-15 during our upcoming 5 week course.  Classes meet weekly starting February 19th, 2018.

Will Fern is a professional magician, performing close-up and stage magic internationally.  During his 25 year full-time career as a magician, Will has been a member of the Society of American Magicians (SAM) and the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM), and has worked in a wide variety of venues, including all manner of private and corporate affairs, in theaters, on cruise ships, and much more.

Will was awarded the IBM International Championship in Close-Up (“Strolling”) Magic in 2011, competing against magicians from over 50 countries.  Will has been awarded a “Star of Magic” by the National Theater in Washington, D.C., and has been featured as a guest performer for over 10 consecutive years at the world renowned Magic Castle, in Hollywood, California.

Primarily a corporate entertainer, Will performs nationally for Fortune 500 companies including Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Goldman Sachs, Bristol Meyers Squibb, Dun & Bradstreet and dozens more. He performs strolling magic and stand-up comedy magic at dinners and banquets, as well as providing booth entertainment at industry trade shows.  His company, Team Magic, Inc., provides magically-themed team building programs for the same clientele.

In addition to private magic coaching, Will has also taught over 2,000 students (ages 7-18) the art of magic, mainly in summer camp settings, over the course of 20 years.  He is currently a staff teacher/counselor and lecturer at the world’s most prestigious magic camp for children ages 8 to 18, Tannens Magic Camp, held at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, PA.  Another acclaimed camp, the Summit NJ FLASH summer arts program, employed Will as their magic instructor for 6 years in what became their most popular class.

Will has a passion for magic, community service, and teaching, and in 2016 helped launch “Magical Healing,” a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, where he serves as Vice President. Magical Healing has a unique and magical vision:  “To empower our youth to perform the timeless art of magic to entertain veterans, hospitalized children, seniors and struggling families.  The young magicians experience themselves as people who make a powerful difference, uplifting everyone they touch with magic, wonderment and joy.”  The Magical Healing program is a 6 week course, culminating with 8 young magicians performing for an audience of seniors, veterans, etc, as noted above.

More information about Will’s course on magic will be out soon!  Info will be located under ‘Events’ on our main navigation bar.
